Barry has a baby!!!!

Maybe Barry is a she! If you click on the picture and look under his/her head you will see a young slow worm, very exciting! It's becoming a soap opera, move over Cornation Street.

Here's the first pond skater I have seen this year, skating about on top of the mass of tadpoles that started to hatch out yesterday. The newts are eating the tadpoles so we'll see how many make it to frogdom.

Wow Goosey!! That is so exciting!! Isn't it amazing what goes on under your eyes( our should I say bin lid!) in your own back garden! I dont seem to have much in the way of spawn in my ponds this year, don't know why? Lovely to see you the other day X Take care Tatty X

We didn't have so much frog activity this year although there was still alot of spawn laid. Thank you so much for the book Tatty...can't wait to try "Grandmothers Embrocation!"

What a lovely slow worm. I believe it's the first one I've ever seen.

We used to have slow worms and lizards in our garden when I was growing up on the edge of Southampton. They vary so much in colour (bit like adders do, come to think of it). So "Barry" has a baby now . . . you may have to think of a new name! Brilliant photo : )

Actually since I took this phoo I can see that there are two youngsters not one but no more pictures! Enough is enough!
