New Birding year begins

I know the snow has gone now from our area but couldn't resist a couple of pictures of the lovely white world.
Snow is so pretty whether it be far off or close up. I was on night shift and had to walk home about 2 miles but had the camera in my bag so enjoyed the walk. One of the interesting things to see was how many fox tracks there were criss crossing the roads and paths.

Snowy dog! Not beautiful but fun!
Excitingly a new bird list starts today with the new year and I have seen some Waxwings as we were in Swanage thats a good tick for Jan 1st!
So far today;
Robin, Blackbird,Blue Tit, Great Tit, Long Tailed Tit, Dunnock, Wood Pigeon, Green Woodpecker, Waxwings, Crows, Rooks, Buzzard, Common gull, Great Black backed gull, Black headed Gull, Common Sandpiper, Redshank, Curlew, Kestrel, Great Crested Grebes, Pheasant, Goosander, Teal, Wigeon, Mute Swan, Shelduck and Brent Goose.

Happy New Year from the Forest!

I was out in the field this morning and was surrounded by a flock of redwings, so that is my best birding experience, so far, for 2011. They are such pretty birds and seem quite unafraid of people.
